RAMCHECK® LX Direct Printer Interface
The optional DIRECT PRINTER INTERFACE, p/n INN-8558-4, allows you to print directly from the RAMCHECK LX to a printer, without the need for a PC connection. This option includes a special adapter, which connects to the RAMCHECK LX 16-pin IDC socket available at the right side of the base tester.

Please note that the PC Communications package which is included with your RAMCHECK LX unit allows you to print all reports on directly from your PC. This adapter is needed only if you do not have a PC near your tester.
NOTE: The DIRECT PRINTER INTERFACE is targeted for dot matrix and inkjet printers that support the original IBM PC's Standard Parallel Printer Port Interface (IEEE1284) or Centronics port. These printers can be purchased in a full or narrow-page format.
As this adapter is not designed for modern laser printers, we recommend that you use the free PC Communication program to print test reports on laser printers that rely upon device drivers installed on the PC.
The adapter comes with a short 16-pin IDC cable that connects to the RAMCHECK LX's IDC socket. Your printer connects directly to the standard 25-pin D-SUB connector on the other side of the adapter, using a standard parallel printer cable (not included).
Once you connect your printer to RAMCHECK LX, you can print the Test Log either manually, or automatically. Selecting either mode is done by entering the following key sequence during Standby Mode:

Use the left or right arrow keys to select the printing mode, then press F1 to enter your choice. In automatic printing mode, the Test Log is printed whenever you return to Standby Mode after a test. In manual printing mode, you can print the current Test Log by pressing F5 while viewing the Test Log.
Required RAMCHECK LX Firmware Version: 3.06 or above.
Note: The Printer Interface is also compatible with the older or RAMCHECK or SIMCHECK II. These older testers required a special PAL Chip installation (which is already built in the RAMCHECK LX)
