SIMCHECK II COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM

INSTALLATION AND INITIAL SETUP

The SIMCHECK II Communications program is supported only on the WIN95/98/NT 32-bit platforms. It requires about 3 Meg space in your hard disk.

The installation diskette includes the standard "setup.exe" file for automatic installation. If you have downloaded the file "sim2e.zip" from our FTP server, you will need to first extract the files into a temporary folder (e.g. 'temp'). You can then proceed with the automatic installation process.

Connect SIMCHECK II/IIse to your PC and activate the program. Use the PC/Software Setup button to select an available COM port and to connect SIMCHECK II to that port. Select the User Information page of the PC/Software Setup and enter your company name and your e-mail. You can setup several User's Fields with your messages and you can control the inclusion of the messages in the Test Log and the printouts of the program. Click the help button (or use the help menu) to review the help file. The "What is new" section will quickly inform you about the new features of this new program compared to the older 16-bit Downloader/Realtime Interface programs.

Follow the on-line installation instructions to verify that SIMCHECK is properly connected and you are ready to go... Please make sure that your SIMCHECK has been upgraded to the latest version (1.42 or higher).

SIMCHECK II FEATURES

The SIMCHECK menu allows access to all features and capabilities of the SIMCHECK Communications Program. You will probably prefer to reach these functions via the readily accessible speed buttons.

• PC/Software Setup -Allows you to change the COM Port and edit User Information.
• Find SIMCHECK -Allows you to check proper communication to your SIMCHECK.
• Setup SIMCHECK -Allows you to setup SIMCHECK parameters, configuration, and testflow.
• Realtime Interface -Allows you to control SIMCHECK via the PC, also allows you to view and print the Test Log.
• Send Bitmap -Allows you to send a bitmap to the SIMCHECK LCD.
• Send Data -Allows you to send Firmware, Setup, Activation Code, or SPD data to SIMCHECK.
• Receive Data -Allows the program to receive SPD data from SIMCHECK.
• Get Screen -Allows you to perform a screen capture of SIMCHECK's LCD screen.
• Communications Diagnostics -Allows you to view the raw stream of data in SIMCHECK's serial communications.
• Automated SIMCHECK Firmware Upgrade -Starts an automated process that will upgrade your SIMCHECK with the latest firmware version - your computer must have a dial-up or direct connection to the Internet.
• Production Mode -Recommended for memory manufacturers only. This mode allows you to automatically program the SPD of your tested memory modules.
