The new program furnishes all the essential communication functions needed between the SIMCHECK II product line and a PC running Windows 95/98 NT. It allows users to download updated firmware files directly from INNOVENTIONS' FTP server onto the SIMCHECK's Flash memory, and permits realtime interface between SIMCHECK and the PC for control, data logging, and report printing. The program further provides support for editing, saving, and programming the SPD chip of the device under test.

Fall is upon us and INNOVENTIONS' principals are migrating again to the Comdex 1997 show in Las Vegas, Nevada (Nov. 17-22). This year we will be located at Booth #S8105, right at the entrance to the Sand Expo building. There is a great excitement here as we will be introducing two main new products in the show: SIMCHECK II se (shipping now), and the Sync DIMMCHECK 168 (shipping 1Qtr 98), the SDRAM tester for the SIMCHECK II family.
Last month we have introduced the new 20-42 pin universal SOJ adapter for SIMCHECK II. Other recently introduced products include the DIMMCHECK 144P PRO and the DIMMCHECK 72P PRO for testing the S.O. DIMM modules with 144 and 72 pins respectively. Since April 97, we have added the new SIMCHECK II Realtime Interface PC program. This month we have introduced the Direct Printer Interface option which enables SIMCHECK II to print its test log directly to a parallel printer, without the need of a personal computer. While most users can use the PC Realtime Interface (which is included with SIMCHECK II free of charge) to print their reports, the new option was requested by some production facilities who have no extra room for a PC near the SIMCHECK unit.

The support for S.O. DIMM was expanded with the introduction of the DIMMCHECK 144P PRO and the DIMMCHECK 72P PRO, our latest members of the new SIMCHECK II family.
DIMMCHECK 144P PRO provides new support for testing the 144-pin S.O. DIMM modules, which become more popular in notebook computers. DIMMCHECK 72P PRO is an higher-end version of our older DIMMCHECK 72P adapter for testing the 72-pin S.O. DIMM modules. Both "PRO" units utilize high quality test sockets which allows for easy insertion and removal of the tested modules.

Feinstein, president of the Houston based INNOVENTIONS Inc. The SIMCHECK II, which started shipping last summer, is the firm's top of the line memory tester. Its advanced architecture combines a fast 486 processor with 1nS resolution time delay circuitry to achieve the absolute most in desktop and portable memory testing. With its numerous adapters, SIMCHECK II tests all popular SIMM and DIMM DRAM modules with sizes up to 4Gx80. The new Realtime Interface provides a SIMCHECK II with data logging, remote control, and report printing capabilities. SIMCHECK II was demonstrated at the prestigious COMDEX Test Center sponsored by Computer Reseller News at the Las Vegas Convention Center's main lobby during COMDEX 96. 400 leading products have been competing for the 65 available time slots. During the demonstration, INNOVENTIONS' president, Mr. David Y. Feinstein, was interviewed by CRN Test Center Director and Reviews Editor Mr. Joel Shore before a live reseller audience.

INNOVENTIONS, Inc. of Houston, Texas, the world's pioneer and leader in portable memory testers, has announced today the release of the new DIMMCHECK 168 for testing the new 168-pin DIMMs (Dual In-line Memory Modules). DIMM modules have recently become popular since they allow very high density of DRAM implementations with bus width of 64-80 bits as required by the modern Pentium and other high end RISC processors.
The new unit connects to the firm's main tester, the SIMCHECK PLUS, and enables it to test DIMMs with x64, x72, and x80 bits. Testable DIMMs include Parity and ECC types.
To test a DIMM module, simply plug the new DIMMCHECK 168P into the 40-BIT PORT expansion slot, insert a module, and press one button to initiate the fully automatic test. Test results identify the size, speed, type, and structure of the DIMM and also provide a reading of the DIMM's PRD (PResence Detect) code.
The DIMMCHECK 168P is available now and retails for $295. It comes with new firmware in an EPROM (Program version 2.38) which modifies existing SIMCHECK PLUS units to support the new DIMMCHECK 168P.
