"Need Factory Upgrade" Notification
If you see a "Need Factory Upgrade" message when you turn on your RAMCHECK tester after installing updated firmware, it means that the new firmware detected hardware that is not current with factory specifications as of the date of the new firmware. It is still safe to operate your unit as you did before. However, your older hardware configuration means that your RAMCHECK tester may not be able to test specific memory modules which we have recently added support for, or support the new test adapters. It is important for you to know that you have not lost any test functionality by installing new firmware.RAMCHECK automatically detects its hardware configuration and specific information entered by the quality control technician when the unit was first shipped or the last time your unit was in for service. This information is stored in its internal memory. Based on this information we can determine if your RAMCHECK is up to current factory specifications.
