RotoView
® Technology Scrolls the
Display of a PDA or Mobile Phones in Response to Changes in the Hand Movement
and Orientation of the Device
HOUSTON - October 15, 2002 - INNOVENTIONS, Inc. was awarded today US Patent
Number 6,466,198 for its RotoView
® technology. RotoView
technology provides an intuitive, user-friendly way to scroll around the
display of any small hand-held device, including PDAs and cell phones, simply
by tilting or changing the orientation of the device in the direction it needs
to be scrolled. RotoView senses the changes in the spatial orientation of the
device and dynamically controls the display's view.
"The inherently small displays used by mobile devices creates a challenge
for displaying large amounts of information, especially with a single hand
operation", said David Y. Feinstein, RotoView's inventor and President of
INNOVENTIONS. "RotoView technology is designed to overcome this
challenge."
In addition to the implementation of view navigation based on orientation
changes, the RotoView patent also covers various automated methods for entering
and exiting the navigation mode without the use of mechanical switches. The
company believes that RotoView technology can be easily implemented in most
PDAs, mobile phones, game systems and other hand held devices.
"RotoView was invented as part of our vision that future hand-held devices
will eventually use voice commands in conjunction with RotoView display
navigation, instead of the mechanical switches used today", said Mr.
Feinstein. "Display navigation is quite cumbersome when relying on voice
commands alone. RotoView makes navigation much simpler, eliminating the need
for repetitive voice commands. It will be more pleasant for the user," he
added.
INNOVENTIONS will be licensing its new patent as well as its other pending US
and international RotoView patents to interested manufacturers. Further
information is available at the RotoView Web site,
