- Q. What is the Calibration and
Upgrade procedure for the RAMCHECK family of products?
A. The continuous changes of memory technology require us to make various
hardware and component changes in our products. Therefore, older RAMCHECK units
must be upgraded at the factory in a Calibration &
Hardware upgrade procedure to bring the unit to current production
specifications. For example, if your RAMCHECK is a few years old and has never
been in for service/upgrade/calibration and you are planning to purchase a new
adapter, your RAMCHECK may need a hardware upgrade to fully support these
adapters. These upgrades are usually free of charge if you purchase any of
these adapters and bring your RAMCHECK to current factory specifications.
- Q. How often should I calibrate my
A. We strongly recommend that your unit will be sent for a Calibration & Hardware upgrade every 12-18
months. This will ensure that your test system is current to factory
specifications and has the latest updates and modifications that are necessary
to run at its most optimum level. In addition, new product developments which
become available can be upgraded to your unit when needed.
- Q. How do I determine that my unit needs
to be sent for the Calibration & Hardware Upgrade procedure?
A. As mentioned above, we recommend that you send the unit for Calibration
& Hardware upgrade every 12-18 months. However, you may also encounter a
situation where a certain hardware upgrade is required in order to support a
new adapter (e.g. the DDR adapter) or a new feature (e.g. PC-333 tests). That
can be determined when your RAMCHECK does not work with such adapter even after
you have upgraded the firmware.

Calibration & Hardware procedure?

information. Please also review our general RMA
policy. We cannot accept any packages without a valid RMA
